Lakestone Bank & Trust has announced that it will again provide up to 6 scholarships of $1,000 to qualifying high school graduates. As a locally owned community bank, Lakestone Bank & Trust wants to encourage and reward graduating seniors who are motivated to obtain a degree. Graduating seniors from Lapeer, Imlay City, North Branch, Dryden, Almont, LakeVille, Capac, Yale, Memphis, Armada, Brown City and Port Huron districts may apply for the scholarship. Home schooled students who live in these districts will also be eligible by providing documentation of high school equivalency and college eligibility as an incoming freshman. The student must plan on attending an accredited two or four year college or university.
Eligibility is based on financial need, as well as a submitted essay and academic performance.
Students need to submit a fully completed scholarship application, as well as an essay, high school transcript and the first page of income tax forms for both parents and the student.
Application information is available on LAKESTONEbank.com and in all Lakestone Offices. Completed applications can be returned to any Lakestone office or emailed to scholarships@LAKESTONEbank.com on or before the deadline date of April 1, 2017.
