LCBT ranked in the country’s top 200 community banks

In May of 2015, County Bank Corp., the holding company of Lapeer County Bank & Trust Co. (CBNC), was listed in the Top 200 Publicly Traded Community Banks and Thrifts by American Banker Magazine. This annual list is based on three-year average return on equity (“ROE”) as of December 31, 2014.

“With the performance of small banks improving overall, the competition to earn a spot on this ranking continues to ratchet up. To make the list we published in 2014, institutions had to post a three-year average ROE of 8.66%. This year the cutoff was higher, at 8.76%.” said Bonnie McGeer of American Banker Magazine.

Lapeer County Bank & Trust Co. was one of only six community banks in Michigan that made their way onto the list, and ranked 136 out of the 750 community banks nationwide that met the criteria.

“Attaining a high level of performance requires an ongoing commitment to excellence in the services we provide to our community.” said Bruce Cady, President and CEO of Lapeer County Bank & Trust Co. “It is an honor to have been recognized among the best in the industry. This is a testament to our commitment to investing in the future, while maintaining a high level of profitability and creating value for our stockholders.”
