LuAnn Valdez retires after 24 years

As an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Lakestone Bank & Trust, LuAnn Valdez is well known throughout the community.

“When someone invests over two decades of their life in to something they love, it shows. LuAnn Valdez is so well known in Imlay City that you just have to say her first name and everyone knows who you are talking about. She has helped our Bank grow in the Imlay City area right from the beginning. She will be missed by her fellow coworkers and all she came in contact with during her time as Branch Manager of the Downtown Imlay City office of Lakestone Bank & Trust,” said Michael J. Burke, Jr., President and C.O.O. of Lakestone Bank & Trust.

Valdez has held the roles of Assistant Branch Manager and Head Teller. She has spent 32 years in the banking industry. In 1994, Valdez graduated from the Robert M. Perry School of Lending and in 1999 went on to graduate from the Robert M. Perry School of Banking at Central Michigan University. Valdez is also a Baker College Graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Business.

During her career, Valdez was a fixture in the community. She has served for six years on the Imlay City Chamber of Commerce Executive Board of Directors and six years on the Imlay City DDA Board of Directors. Valdez has also been an active volunteer on the Blueberry Festival Committee for thirteen years.

“Throughout LuAnn’s life, she has been an integral part of the Imlay City Community,” expressed Tamra Kleynenberg, V.P. and Branch Coordinator at Lakestone Bank & Trust. “She has been dedicated to that very community for the past 24 years through her service at our Bank. She will be missed.”

In her retirement, Valdez plans to spend more time with her family and granddaughters. She also looks forward to camping with her fifth wheel, golfing, and traveling.

Valdez’s official retirement date is January 31, 2018. On January 19, the downtown Imlay City office will be hosting a celebration of her retirement. Coffee and cake will be served as friends and customers wish Valdez good luck!
